Πρώτη νίκη έπειτα από 30 χρόνια για τον Mumia!

Επειτα από 30 χρόνια δικαστικών αγώνων αλλά και ενός δυναμικού διεθνούς κύματος αλληλεγγύης, η απόφαση της θανατικής ποινής που είχε επιβληθεί στον αφροαμερικανό  δημοσιογράφο - ακτιβιστή και συγγραφέα Mumia Abu-Jamal κατέπεσε ενώπιον του Περιφερειακού Εισαγγελέα της Φιλαδέλφεια και μετατράπηκε σε ισόβια κάθειρξη. Ο 57χρονος Mumia Abu-Jamal -μέλος ως το 1970 του κόμματος των Μαύρων Πανθήρων και πρόεδρος της Ενωσης Μαύρων Δημοσιογράφων της Φιλαδέλφεια- είχε καταδικαστεί το 1981 σε θάνατο για τον φόνο του αστυνομικού Daniel Faulkner… Ηταν 9 Δεκέμβρη 1981. 30 χρόνια αργότερα, η αμερικανική δικαιοσύνη αποκαθιστά έστω κατά ένα μέρος της μια λανθασμένη απόφαση.       Ομως ο αγώνας για την απελευθέρωση του Mumia Abu-Jamal συνεχίζεται…

We’re seeing the truth of its insight when we see the sad state of American education the rush of seniors to buy affordable medications from the Canadians because American drugs are just too expensive, the threat of privatization of Social Security and the wave of repression that comes with an increasing Militarized Police; this is a War on all of us. And the struggle against War is really a struggle for a better life for the millions of folks who are in need here in this country! The fight against the War is really to fight for your own interests, not the false interests of the Defense Industry or the corporate media or the White House. Down with the Wars for empire!
