Occupy! Λέξη της χρονιάς;

Σκηνές από την εξέγερση των κατοίκων του χωριού Wukan στη νότια Κίνα που από τον Σεπτέμβριο ζητούν δυναμικά την επιστροφή της γης τους που η κυβέρνηση έχει δεσμεύσει για να την παραδώσει στους επενδυτές προς «αξιοποίηση»… Την ίδια στιγμή και ενώ το περιοδικό Time ανακαλύπτει στην πλατεία Συντάγματος της Αθήνας τον σκύλο Λουκάνικο  ως πρόσωπο της χρονιάς, σε εκατοντάδες πλατείες πόλεων ανά τον πλανήτη, από τη Μαδρίτη, το Κάιρο, τη Μόσχα, το Τορόντο, το Τόκιο ως την Ουάσινγκτον, η άμεση δημοκρατία και η επανοικειοποίηση του αγαθού του δημόσιου χώρου γίνονται αίτημα που απλώνεται αγγίζοντας όλο και περισσότερους ανθρώπους που συνειδητοποιούνται απέναντι στη μονοκρατορία των «αγορών». Το παρακάτω video δημιουργήθηκε από ακτιβιστές του κινήματος Occupy Wall Street, πέρασε από την έγκριση της γενικής λαϊκής συνέλευσης της 20ής Δεκεμβρίου στη Νέα Υόρκη και αφιερώνεται στους ανά τον κόσμο υπστηρικτές του κινήματος ως ένα μεγάλο «ευχαριστώ»…

“Rais lebled»(«Πρόεδρε, ο λαός σου είναι νεκρός») από τον El General

• Επειτα από τρεις μέρες κράτησης στις τυνησιακές φυλακές αφέθηκε ελεύθερος ο 22χρονος ράπερ Hamada Ben-Amor, γνωστός ως El General. Είχε συλληφθεί την Πέμπτη 6/1/2011 από άνδρες της αστυνομίας στο σπίτι του στο Sfax, λίγο μετά την κυκλοφορία του τραγουδιού του «Rais lebled» στο Διαδίκτυο. Οι στίχοι του τραγουδιού μεταφρασμένοι στα αγγλικά είναι:

• Mr. President, I’m addressing you today, in my name

  and in the name of the (Tunisian) people who are living in suffering

  2011 and there are still those who die of hunger

  They want to work for a living but their voice is not heard

  Just walk the streets and see, people are becoming monsters

  Look at the police men with batons, “tak tak” (hitting) relentlessly

  Since there is no one to tell them No, not even the law

  Every day I hear about innocent people being falsely convicted

  • Is freedom of expression that’s only talked about?

  You called Tunisia the lush, Mr. President, but as you can see, today it’s only a desert divided in two

  They steal in broad day light, they seized and nabbed everything in the country

  Without naming names, you know who these people are

  A lot of money that was destined for development and projects

  The sons of bitches stole and are clinging to their thrones

  I know that the people don’t hear about much of it

• Mr. President, your people are eating from garbage cans

  You can see what’s happening in the country

  Tragedy and homeless everywhere

  I’m talking in the name of the wronged and those who were treaded on

  Mr. President, I’m addressing you fearlessly, not expecting more than slap on my face

  I’m seeing a lot of injustice, that’s why I’m speaking up

  Against the advice of many who warned I would pay with my head

  But until when will the Tunisians live in delusion?

• I see «religiously dressed» women being prosecuted

  You wouldn’t want this for your own daughter

  Sad talk makes your eyes cry

  As a parent you wouldn’t want harm to your children

  So consider this a message from one of your suffering children

  We are living like dogs; half your people are living humiliated and in sufferance

• • But if the situation was not unjust I wouldn’t speak out

    OK

    The voice of the people
